The HEART of KEGY flows from the central emphases of the evangelical movement, particularly the centrality and importance of:

  • Jesus, the promised messiah
  • Scripture, God's authoritative revelation
  • Evangelization, proclaiming the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus
  • Personal conversion, making Jesus the Lord of our life

The TEACHING of KEGY is rooted in and draws from the ancient Christian tradition. Instead of distinguishing our church over and against other Christian denominations, we instead confess the doctrines that have united Christians the past 2000 years. In particular, we affirm both the Nicene and Apostolic Creeds as they were originally formulated (insert links).

The SPIRIT of KEGY is none other than God's own Holy Spirit, who unites all who are in God's family. We take Jesus' prayer in John 17 as well as St. Paul's teaching in 1Corinthians 12-14 very seriously, desiring to be a community that continues to grow into the fullness of Christ through engaging and learning from other parts of Jesus' body, particularly those that are dissimilar and gifted differently from us (Eph. 4).
